Finding Your Niche
Sometimes, when you find yourself stuck in a boring routine, you have to step outside of your own shoes for a moment. This can be hard to do at first, but can be very liberating and also refreshing. We oftentimes get into our routines and completely forget about the variety in life. It’s necessary to do this every so often so we can actually see the bigger picture. You know, the reason we do what we do.
This brings me to a point. While trying to figure out what you wanted to do when you grew up, you inevitably came up with many ideas and interests. Stuff you were good at, found interesting, or felt natural to you. Then, you tried to figure out which field or career would provide the best opportunities to capitalize on those interests. That’s called finding your niche.
Everyone must eventually find theirs. Well, hopefully. So, while trying to find yours, what did you do or think? How did you ultimately end up in relation to your interests? Did you get a job because you needed to, or did you find your passion? That’s a large part of finding happiness. So, while I’ve always been involved in the marine industry, I’m finding my motivations and passions have changed recently.
I always enjoy a challenge. And I know, at least for me, the marine industry is very challenging. I perform many different aspects of repairs, installations and maintenance tasks and have done so for many years. That would suggest that my niche would be shipwright, and my sub niches would be fabricator, carpenter, mechanic, systems installer, rigger, etc. Since my interests have moved online now, I’m looking for some more niches. There are so many, it’s hard to choose only a couple. So, if you’re still trying to find YOUR niche, maybe try a few things.
You can ask your friends or family what they see that you do well. How about general tasks? Can you see things that are easy or enjoyable for you or would you rather be doing something else? Sometimes it’s hard to find out who we are. Sometimes, a crisis or life altering experience are able to define us. Whatever it takes, strive to work on yourself frequently. You may find a whole other world of interests you never knew about. Maybe a year ago, you would have thought no way. Today, it’s your calling.
We are all looking for ourselves and consequently, our niche. In our work, and in our lives. It’s okay to change in midstream. That’s our nature. Just be passionate about it and life will never be boring. I sincerely hope you find whatever it is that excites you. Until next time.

Hi Patrick,
A good post to help us focus. I know we all have a bunch of ideas, we just have to dig them out sometimes.
Enjoy the journey.

Mandy,
You’re right and it’s the hardest thing to do. Just write them down for later, unless they’re what you want to work on right now. Take care and enjoy your journey also. Patrick

John,
That should not be too hard. There’s so much info available on the topic. I was also thinking along those same lines as I have a ton of ebooks. It should be interesting to see some of the finished products. Enjoy the ride.

Have you been employing any plugins or widgets that will quicken it up? If you could possibly write about the programs so I might use these in my personal website so twilight eclipse fans could watch twilight breaking dawn online trailers and films faster I’d be ever so grateful – thanks ahead of time
